Energy Management Project of an Industrial Park in Shenzhen


As the price difference between peak and valley electricity consumption continues to widen nationwide, coupled with the continuous decrease in the price of energy storage batteries, the economic viability of commercial and industrial energy storage is becoming increasingly prominent. According to the publicly disclosed grid purchase electricity prices of China in December 2023, the price difference between peak and valley electricity consumption exceeds ¥0.7/kWh in 23 regions across the country. Shanghai has the largest price difference, reaching ¥1.6994/kWh, followed closely by Hunan at ¥1.5543/kWh. Guangdong also has the price differences exceeding ¥1/kWh, providing significant arbitrage opportunities for C&I energy storage applications.

 

Recently, Vilion has signed an energy management contract for a 500 kW/1075 kWh electricity-side energy storage power station project with an industrial park in Shenzhen. As a hardware factory, the electricity consumption for daily production and operations is substantial, especially during peak periods when production costs significantly rise. By choosing the energy storage system supplied by Vilion, the factory will achieve peak/valley arbitrage by controlling the charging and discharging of the energy storage system. At night, during periods of normal and valley electricity prices hours, the grid will charge the energy storage system. During the day, the factory load is stable and can fully consume the discharge of the energy storage, and the transformer capacity meets the charging needs of the energy storage. Therefore, the factory will achieve energy time-shifting, saving electricity costs, and improving the economic efficiency of the enterprise.
